Aliah took over Avonna, but can’t rejoin us, though she very much wants to, for a few months at best.

 

Jehan bad cooking made a few with less hardy stomachs, very upset to varying degrees.

Tendril to Drake’s finger almost gone after owl by, and gone from Stebburson.

Fluff consumed all of Jektor’s Mint, just when many could have benefited from it for their stomachs.

Fluff’s heartburn was cured by the mint.

His repeated searches for more mint, to no avail.

 

Everyone started to experience unpleasant itching around their lower legs.

 

some worse than others.

 

in morning, lymph nodes, sore throat, and slight headache.

Jekot, jehan, & Ricshire.

Jektor asked of Jehan: “What did you make for us yesterday?!”

jehan responded: “Malaria stew?”

 

Meanwhile, the low self disciplines of the Great men, they were scratching their itchy legs “mercylessly”.

 

The party realizes they have become flea infested.

 

Background: Fleas spread the plague. the little girls’s family died from them, and the animals. The cold fog only rolled that far north that night just as the attack began. This started to put the fleas into hibernation. But not yet fully dormant. When the party tramped through the house, the barn, and the surrounding area, some fleas clung to their boots and leggings. The cold kept them from being anuy more active than clinging. Some did burrow down and feed, but the cold hid this.

With the warmth and nature-empowering Owlby environment, thje fleas became vibrantly actively.

 

 

Girl awoke and semi coherently began asking for her “mama”.

Her color is better, postures are now scabs.

Fingers, nose, toes, and ears, still blackened from gangrenous issues.

 

though Jektos couldn’t find mint, Jehan found some. while everyone was scavenging for various herbs, trying to find relief from the itching and other unpleasant symptoms.

 

They learned the girls name. that she was 6 years old.

That she had an inky and anty in Downby.

 

Fluff urinated on himself and is odiferous.

 

drake back to normal.

 

Came across road packed with refugees.

Drake used his stunning good looks to get some younger women to speak to him, he tossed them some coins they squabbled over.

 

running from Vinton to aMidway on way to Camelot.

 

As the party continued, their symptoms worsened.

Now the worst affected had aches, pains, flu-like symptoms, and now swell in gin the armpits and neck. headache worsened.

Party repeatedly searching for herbs to try to treat illness.

The sores from the bites, for the worst affected, have become inflamed, and are oozing pussy sores.

 

As the party increased urgency in searching of rherbs to treat symptoms, while symptoms worsening, the party traveled slower and slower.

The party made camp in a “bowl” in the open lands.

Elected to spedn the following day resting, since ether felt a little better in the morning, in the hopes that more rest will help them feel better. WQhile also continuing search for more herbs.

Symptoms now worsened, and itching burning skin.

Jehan that put mud on the bites, his bites twice as inflamed as the others.

Party debated taking a small detour to drop the girl off at Downby.

The Hobbit was the most heartless about the situation, stating: “let’s get rid of IT”.

Party elected to detour to Downby.

 

Though rest helped, everyone still felt worse by that afternoorn/evening.

Even the heartiest now have mild aches and pains, and mild fever.

Searching for herbs, did actually turn up some in general useful herbs, but not helpful for current symptoms.

the second night in the bowl. Bluebright sees that thread to jehan is stronger again, but 

 

 

Party bypassed Downby for fear of giving them the plague.

At long last, the Party is near the Oracle!

They have travelled hundreds of leagues, through the Northern Woods, The Great Druid Wall, the Wild Woods, The Northern Wood Elf Realm, the Dragon Spine Mountains Northern Pass. The Nothern High Road, and finally the Fiery Mountain. They thwarted the Guardian of the Fire Bridge, and they have come to an altitude of 17,000' and a riddle to let them pass... Which Ryan aka Fluff, promptly guessed within moments!

Next week they should finally meet the Oracle herself!

This group prefers ROLE-players over ROLL-players, even though it is Rolemaster 2nd edition. :) 

UPDATE May 21st, now accepting a new player to fill an empty seat.

Remember I record all my game sessions with audio & video. If you are not comfortable with being recorded, you will not want to participate in my groups. 

This campaign setting began development and use in the early 1980s. I moved to Spokane in 2004. This is the 7th Spokane group in this setting.

This group has been playing this campaign since October 2015. When we are short player(s), this group plays either Twilight 2000 or Stargate SG-1 RPG. 

Worlds of Beru is my home brewed multi-verse heroic (must be "good aligned" in behavior) campaign setting of "The Worlds of Beru" with the standard start in the Port City of Balchoth.

It takes 4+ hours, especially for those new to the system, to complete creation of the Rolemaster 2nd Edition characters with rich story backgrounds. Here are the PCs. 

Jacob = Northron Great Man, Beastmaster (non-identical twin to Ryan's character).

Justin = Regnum Sapientium Common Man, Rogue, now on his own quest. 

Dawn = Mist Elf, Shaman. Returned to the mists. 

Drake = Aridian Human, Bard. Infected by a strand of Cthulhu. 

Heather = Hobbit, Duelist

Ryan = Northron Great Man, Beastmaster (non-identical twin to Jacob's character). 

Created by Michael (now played by Heather) = Ruru, of the Shattered Isles, an Intelligent Baboon, Burglar/Dancer. 

Game sessions are now Tuesdays, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Hawke's House in Game Room #1 (of up to 7 game areas not counting the offices or the planned RPG Trailer -http://rpgtrailer.com that I am saving up to build).

This group just filled back up. Will let people know if another seat opens up. 

Though many others have played in my campaign running since the 1980s, I started the current count of group numbers for this campaign since moving to Spokane in 2004 (and first Beru campaign here started around 2007).

Back in April (real-world time), the group finally met with the Oracle. Here are what she shared...

(With Heavy Greek Accent)
She goes into glassy-eyed stare, the pupils of her eyes disappear and only the whites of her eyes are seen, but they glow with a slight greenish-purple tint!
Her voice sounds as though echoing from some great distance away.

“You have all become ensnared,
in matters far beyond your ken.
Your time is measured in days, weeks, & months,
not more than years of three.

Only if the lands of the Thinking Man
are saved by then,
can the lady hope one day
to regain her lands of birth,
and through this,
the rest achieve their dreams.

You must awaken the sleeping rebel,” (looking at all the party)
“The warrior-goddess.
She will serve as guide,
& lead you to others 4,
that may raise & unite.
But beware the jealousy of the father's spouse!

So First,
The Hero who was,
for the people of the World of Ice,
Twain might rescue from.
(Looks at the twins)
If they heed the watching Dragon vain,
But lo!
Beware the guardian unseen.
The sleeping Brunhildë.
She will serve as guide to the future,
and unite,
The Gods & The People of the North.

Second,
A Hero who is,
Of the forgotten people of the World of Sands,
'The shadow of the desert mouse.'
Help him defeat the mind-killer” (figurative and literal, his fears & a mind-flayer?)
He first will unite the Arid Lands,
& with your help,
their world himself become Their God.

 


Third,
The lady of the dry lands must marry.
A Hero to be,
of the people of the rising sun,
Ieyasu of Okazaki Castle.
They will unite the East,
And their Son may one day,
save the shining Sun from the abyss.

Fourth,
Another Hero to be,
of the people of the broken lands,
The man-child who will overturn the Naha Stone.
Through blood he will unite the South.

Finally,
The Hero who never was,
of the people from the world yet to be,
Abd El-Krim Lost in the Mists, who has heard The Song of Arda,
if found,
He will bring those from beyond,
and unite these all.

If all this comes to pass,
the first waves,
of the dark tide,
will be turned aside.

Not one land,
but many will be saved,
for a time.
Not one world,
but many,
will have a brief respite.
Not just this time,
but the future,
will birth a new past.

But the darkness within is still growing.
If you fail,
the past that was will come to be.

The darkness within will spill forth,
all in this world,
and many beyond will become
the servants & slaves,
of the darkness
I see ruling many worlds & times.”

 

Oracle regarding Richsire's Goals
Ricshire wants to find means of eliminating fear of water and disability from weather.
And information on the Drow priestess responsible for the raid that killed Ricshire's village.

You will find the answer to both your desires
in the places you fear most to go.
South, and south, across and under the seas yet farther south.
Where once was frozen,
Through the realm of glory that once was,
but now is nest for the greatest seeds of darkness.
There your greatest crippling, if you overcome,
you will find the strength to suffer no more,
could save those who have not yet perished,
and more...

 

 

Oracle regarding Jehan's Cthulhu bond.

“If you do not that which is hard”
(looking at the rest of the group),
“and fail that which I will tell you,
then all I saw of darkness,
will be but a pale shadow,
compared to what will be under The Great One.

That which holds the First,
A touch to your heart,
If you survive the rift,
will break the bond of The Great One.”

Regarding Jehan's goals:
Under the greatest kingdom that ever was,
immersed in Ulmo's element,
Echoes of the greatest music that ever was or ever shall be,
could be found and brought forth unto the the world

Some game-time group events update overview:

The PC's succeeded in finding Brunhilde, persuaded the dragon guardian, and defeated the unseen guardian.
The Hobbit, Ricshire awoke Brunhilde, and she is now beholden to him.

Their Next Goal
Travel to the far northlands, between the Northrons, the North Elves, north of Aridia.
There is a high mountain, in the lands of the greatest of the Frost Giants, in Jotunheim, with the Rainbo Bridge to the lands of the gods, Asgard. Get Brunhilde there and meet father (Wanderer/Odin).

Goal: Get Brunhillde to Jotunheim and the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard.


After that, head to the lands of sands in the far south of Aridia (and gateway to Arakis/Dune).

(Dates are game time, not real-world time):

Day 77, November 10th

Cave at waterfall, hunker down until Spring.

Ended with them figuring out the riddle for the treasure acquisition, and getting great upgrades.

 

Game setting date: June 2nd, but for them it is day 207. They experienced a time distortion.

The PC's do not realize yet that fewer days passed “out there” while they were on the mountain of Odin's Well.

Tonight is second session of campaign offshoot, coming from a fantasy setting in a campaign spanning years (Worlds of Beru campaign - ( http://spokanerpg.com/forum/worlds-of-beru-group-7 ), on their way to Jotenheim to return Brunhilde to Valhalla, one of the PCs was thrown from Baba Yaga's Hut (during transdimensional travel as she is wont to do, since her hut according to ancient folklore is basically a TARDIS of sorts :) ), through the mists of time, space, and dimensions by Baba Yaga for not showing enough respect (in her mind), and ending up smack in the middle of Petrograd during the events of the "February" 1917 revolution. PCs will need to travel through Siberia, Tunguska, Lake Baikal, and eventually Alaska, there to interface with the Inupiat/Inuit, and hunt the Great White Whale (or use other possible methods to make contact with it), to get back through the mists to their own dimension, time, and space, and get back on track with their original quests. They learn a little more Russian folklore, history, and geography, within a fantasy character's context for adventure. Fun stuff!
